'We Vow To Defend Our Ravana' Raj B Shetty Reacts To 'Ramayana' Teaser; Yash Responds
Recently, the biggest and the most expensive Indian film with a reported budget of Rs 1600 crore, Ramayana was announced with a 3-minute long teaser.
The teaser announced Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakhsman, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
After the announcement teaser video was dropped online, Kannada filmmaker and actor Raj B Shetty reacted to it in the comments section of Yash’s Instagram post.

He wrote, “A Kannada poet defends his antihero by stating that the great ocean crosses its limits because of time, bringing events like tsunamis. His antihero was Raavana. I think, for the first time, we vow to defend our Raavana.”
Responding to Raj B Shetty’s comment, Yash replied, “Thank you, Shetre! Ramayana, beyond the right and wrong.”

The music of Ramayana is composed by Hollywood legend Hans Zimmer alongside AR Rahman.
The two-part epic is directed by Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal, Chhichhore, Bawaal and Chillar Party fame and produced by Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios and VFX company DNEG fame.
Besides Ranbir, Yash, Sunny, Ravie and Sai Pallavi, the film also stars Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Vivek Oberoi, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chaddhan and Indira Krishnan among others.
The shoot of Ramayana part 1 has been wrapped and is slated to release on Diwali 2026. The filming of Ramayana part 2 will begin next and the sequel will hit the screens worldwide on Diwali 2027.
