Mahindra recently launched the much-awaited 2025 Thar facelift in India, with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh and going up to Rs 16.99 lakh, ex-showroom. At first glance, the SUV looks largely familiar, but a closer look reveals several subtle design updates and some major feature additions that make it more practical and modern than before. Here’s a quick look at what has changed.

2025 Mahindra Thar : What’s new
On the outside, the Thar’s silhouette and overall design remains unchanged, but Mahindra has reworked a few details for a fresher appeal. The grille no longer features black accents; instead, it’s now finished in body colour, creating a cleaner, more unified front fascia. Complementing this is a new silver trim on both sides of the bumper. The rear now gains from rear parking camera, washer, and wiper: features missing from the outgoing model.

The biggest change inside the cabin is the new 10.25-inch infotainment system , the same one seen on the Thar Roxx . It supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Mahindra has also introduced a new steering wheel, again borrowed from the Roxx , although this version skips the leather wrap.

The company has also equipped grab handles on both sides, making ingress and egress easier. There’s also a remote fuel cap opener. The facelifted model further benefits from power window switches located to the door panels. Other updates include a sliding front armrest and rear AC vents. As for the powertrain options, there are no changes. It continues to be offered with the same engine and gearbox choices: 1.5-litre diesel, 2.2-litre diesel, and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. These engines can be had with either a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT.
