The world premiere of Dandadan anime was held at Anime Expo 2024 on July 6. The panel featured director Fuga Yamashiro, voice actors Shion Wakayama (Momo) and Natsuki Hanae (Okarun), Science SARU producer Kohei Sakita, and MBS producer Hiroshi Kamei.

The premiere was met with overwhelmingly positive reactions from fans.

Following the premiere, social media exploded with praises, with fans calling Dandadan

a ’10/10′ and predicting it would be the new biggest anime.

The fluid animation style, which some likened to that of Mob Psycho, drew appreciation, along with the dynamic action set pieces and unique color composition of the scenes.

The fights were also lauded as perfect & well choreographed, yet chaotic and raw.

The anime’s emotional quotient was also praised by fans, especially Ken’s proclamation to save Momo and Momo’s awakening of her powers, which struck a chord with viewers.

They claimed that these scenes surpassed even the manga’s impact.

Overall the fans were impressed with the animators’ and voice actors’ enthusiasm, noting that the production team seemed to have had fun creating the series.

According to many, the panel itself was a highlight, with the team discussing their process and the care they put into each scene.

Even some of the popular English dub voice actors were full of praise for the anime.

With its official release slated for October 2024, Dandadan has already set a high bar with its premiere.

The anime will be streamed on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
