Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War Returns With New Anime Special 'The Steps To Become An Adult'

Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War is returning with a brand new anime TV special titled Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Otona e no Kaidan (The Steps to Become an Adult), as revealed on the series’ official X account on June 22, 2025.

Alongside the announcement, a key visual featuring Kaguya, Shirogane, and the student council members gathered around a flying airplane was also released.

More details about the upcoming special, including staff, cast, and release date, are yet to be revealed.

Originally written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War began serialization in Miracle Jump in 2015 before moving to Weekly Young Jump, where it ran until November 2022.

The manga concluded with the 28th volume and has been published in English by Viz Media.

The series was adapted into an anime by A-1 Pictures, with the first season airing in 2019. It was followed by a second season in 2020, an OVA episode in 2021, and a third season in 2022. In December of that same year, the franchise received a theatrical film titled The First Kiss That Never Ends.

A live-action film adaptation, directed by Hayato Kawai, was also released in September 2019.
