Studio Bones Teams Up With Fullmetal Alchemist Creator Once Again To Animate Her Latest Manga

Daemons Of The Shadow Realm, the latest manga by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa, is getting an anime adaptation by Studio Bones.

The announcement was made during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at Anime Expo 2025, where a teaser visual and trailer for the upcoming series were also revealed.

Crunchyroll also confirmed that it will stream the anime globally, including regions such as North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and the Indian subcontinent.

Masahiro Ando (Sword of the Stranger) will direct the anime. Studio Bones will act as production supervisor, with animation produced by Bones Film.

Also revealed in the trailer were other key staff members: Noboru Takagi will be in charge of series composition, Nobuhiro Arai is handling character designs, and Kenichiro Suehiro will compose the music.

manga in Square Enix’s shonen manga anthology magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan in December 2021.

As of March 12, 2025, nine volumes have been released.

In July 2022, Square Enix Manga & Books announced that they licensed the series for English publication, with the first volume released on April 25, 2023.
