Bajaj Chetak Electric Launched in India At Rs 1 Lakh

The Bajaj Chetak Electric is finally launched in India at a price of Rs 1 Lakh (ex-showroom, Pune and Bangalore). It is Bajaj’s first electric scooter and counted among one of the much-awaited launches of 2020. 

Bajaj Chetak Electric bookings are starting from tomorrow, i.e- 15th January 2020. Available in Urbane and Premium variants, the latter gets metallic colours, such as metallic wheels, light/dark tan seat as well as uses the front drum brake. The Urbane variant doesn’t get the metallic colours, but gets a front drum brake.

The Bajaj Chetak e-scooter will first be available for sale in two cities, Bangalore and Pune, prior to the major metropolitan cities - Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. Also, as conveyed earlier by Bajaj, the scooter will be sold through the KTM dealerships. 

The e-scooter can easily be booked online as it will be available on the official website of Bajaj. The booking can be made at just Rs 2,000. Additionally, a customer service centre is also there in Pune, where customers can take a test ride.

Talking of the specifications, the Chetak comes powered with a 3.8 kW and 4.1 kW electric engine that comes mated with a unique automatic transmission. The engine will get power from a lithium-ion battery, which will provide an 85km range in Sport mode and 95km range in Eco Mode.
