Honda Activa 125 BS-VI Deliveries Start from September 29

Honda Activa 125 BS-VI has finally been launched in the Indian market, much ahead of the April 2020 deadline. The company, on the sidelines of the launch, announced that the deliveries will start from the first day of the Navratri festival, which falls on September 29, 2019. Honda has already commenced the mass production of the scooter while it is India's first-ever BS 6 certified two-wheeler. Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways and MSME, Government of India graced the occasion as chief guest.


Having its global debut in June earlier this year, Honda Activa BS 6 has been introduced in three variants - Standard, Alloy, and Deluxe - in a price range of Rs 67490-74490 (Ex. Showroom). It is available in four paint schemes: Pearl Precious White, Heavy Grey Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, and Rebel Red Metallic. The scooter flaunts an LED headlight with a signature LED position lamp. The front fascia also boasts of a chrome lining on the apron while it is bigger in length, width and height than the present BS 4 model of Activa. Although, despite the increased length, the wheelbase has been kept the same by the company. Honda has also introduced a special six-year warranty package which includes three years as standard and three years as extended.

BS-VI Honda Activa 125 is packed with a best-in-segment safety feature that prevents the scooter from starting if the side stand is still down. It is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder engine with fuel-engine technology which has made it 13 percent more fuel-efficient than the outgoing BS 4 model. Although, the power output has slightly dropped to 8.1bhp as compared to 8.5bhp of BS 4 model. The new engine also comes with PGM-FI Honda Eco Technology (HET), Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP), a new ACG silent start system and Idling Stop System. Honda Activa 125 will lock horns with the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Suzuki Access 125 in the Indian market. Honda is also expected to export the scooter to various global markets shortly.
