IndiGo issues advisory amid heavy rain in Mumbai; what travellers need to know
Seems like Mumbai monsoons are causing major disruptions to the airlines. In a recent update, IndiGo Airlines has issued a travel advisory for those travelling to and from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai. It is because of heavy rainfall in the region. The airline has also warned of temporary disruptions in its schedule as well, urging travellers to monitor their flight status and plan their journeys accordingly.
An orange alert for Mumbai has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It means heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city. The heavy rains have led to waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai, including the southern regions and western areas. Heavy rainfall has also caused significant traffic congestion and delays.

In response to the bad weather conditions, IndiGo has issued an advisory on X, which reads:
“There’s a heavy downpour over #Mumbai at the moment, causing some temporary disruption to flight schedules. If you’re travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual. We're monitoring the situation closely and will get you airborne as soon as possible. Please check your flight status on our app or website before leaving: http://bit.ly/31paVKQ. Remember, we’re here if you need anything along the way.”
The airline has clearly advised passengers to allow extra time for their journeys to the airport because of slow traffic and waterlogging at many places. On Monday morning, parts of Maharashtra—including Mumbai, Pune, and Navi Mumbai rainfall. The IMD forecasts that from June 18 to 21, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in the Konkan region, including Goa, as well as parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
