The much-awaited sequel , ‘ Indian 2 ’ starring Kamal Haasan , was initially set for a theatrical release in June. However, it seems like the makers have further pushed the release date to July .

According to Pinkvilla, ‘Indian 2’ is being slated for a release date in July instead of June. The movie has been in the works since January 2019 but faced delays due to accidents on set and the COVID-19 pandemic.

After resuming production in 2022, the makers are now getting closer to the movie's release. ‘Indian 2’ is the sequel to the 1996 hit film ‘Indian’. It portrays Kamal Haasan as a vigilante fighting corruption. The first movie ended with the character Senapathy leaving India for Hong Kong but returning when corruption resurfaces. The sequel also features Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, and others in important roles.

Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film, whereas the first part boasted music from AR Rahman. Cinematography is by Ravi Varman and R Rathnavelu, with editing by Sreekar Prasad.
