Manga Planet India's initial lineup features globally renowned titles from Kodansha Ltd., including fan favorites like Attack on Titan, Chihayafuru,
Tokyo Revengers, and The Quintessential Quintuplets. The collaboration between Manga Planet India, Kodansha, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) birthed the Manga Shakti Project in January, aimed at comprehending the reading habits of Indian manga enthusiasts. The subscription plan offers flexibility, allowing users to digitally purchase titles using Points. Additionally, Manga Planet India is set to expand its library by gradually adding titles from other publishers.
To celebrate its launch, Manga Planet India is offering a unique opportunity to participants in the Manga Shakti project, providing them with free one-month subscriptions. Moreover, attendees at the Bengaluru Comic Con (November 17–19, 2023) and Delhi Comic Con (December 8–10, 2023) can explore the Manga Planet India booth. Here, visitors can gain insights into the Manga Shakti initiative, learn more about the platform, and even purchase gift codes for subscriptions.
Excitingly, freebies such as event-exclusive magazines and copies of the first chapter of Terako Shima's India Calling Me Now manga will be available. The journey to Manga Planet India's launch has been marked by meticulous market research and engagement with the Indian manga community. The platform's director, Hirotsugu Takano, expressed delight in turning the idea of localized versions into reality, catering specifically to the needs of Indian readers.
