Panchayat 4: Sanvikaa opens up on kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar's Sachiv Ji—'It felt awkward. I became very uncomfortable'
Season 4 of Panchayat : Saanvika and Jitendra Kumar 's friendly chemistry has emerged as a major talking point for the popular rural drama, which keeps gaining popularity with viewers. However, the actress who plays Rinki in the TVF OTT series made a personal choice behind the scenes of Panchayat Season 4 that shifted a crucial scene in the plot: she declined a kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar.
In an interview with Just Too Filmy, Saanvika disclosed that she was first made aware of a kiss between her character Rinki and Sachiv ji, played by Jitendra Kumar.
“In the beginning, no one said anything when the narration was done. But then director Akshat talked to me. He told us that in this season we have inserted a scene where Sachiv ji and Rinki will kiss. The scene was different earlier. Both of them are in the car; she falls down, and then they kiss," she remarked.
Saanvika stated that she gave the request some thought, taking into account both her comfort level and Panchayat's close ties to family audiences.
“So I said, ‘Give me two days to think about whether I am comfortable doing it or not. Then I thought that ‘Panchayat’ has all kinds of audiences, but mostly family people. I was worried about how he would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time. But when we were shooting, they removed that scene, but they inserted the tank scene," she stated.
The situation felt awkward during filming, even though the producers did their best to reassure her about how the scene would be handled. She said, “They said that we will not shoot it in a vulgar way," she said. "But when we were shooting, it felt awkward. I became very uncomfortable, but Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar) is a very nice person. He makes you feel comfortable."
