SEVENTEEN's 'Super' breaks records as their fastest music video to reach 200 million views

SEVENTEEN , the beloved South Korean boy band, just achieved a stunning milestone on YouTube. In the wee hours of May 3rd, at around 2 a.m. KST, their music video for the electrifying hit "Super" crossed the 200 million views mark on the platform. This marks their second music video to achieve such a feat, following the success of " Don't Wanna Cry ."

The journey to this milestone began on April 24, 2023, when SEVENTEEN released the "Super" music video at 6 p.m. KST. It took a little over a year and eight days for the video to amass this impressive view count. What's even more remarkable is that "Super" became the fastest SEVENTEEN music video to reach this milestone, surpassing their previous record held by "Don't Wanna Cry," which took approximately four years and one day to achieve the same feat back in 2021.

SEVENTEEN, formed by Pledis Entertainment , comprises thirteen talented members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. Since their debut, the group has garnered a massive following and gained international recognition for their signature music and performances.

Debuting on May 26, 2015, with the EP "17 Carat," SEVENTEEN quickly made waves in the K-pop scene. Their debut EP became the longest-charting K-pop album of the year in the US and the only rookie album to make it to Billboard's "10 Best K-Pop Albums of 2015" list. Over the years, SEVENTEEN has released four studio albums, twelve EPs, and three reissues, solidifying their status as one of the industry's leading acts.

What sets SEVENTEEN apart is their self-producing prowess. Members actively participate in songwriting, music production, and choreography, showcasing their multifaceted talents. The group operates in three units—hip-hop, vocal, and performance—each specializing in different aspects of their craft. They've earned titles like "Performance Kings," "Theater Kids of K-Pop," and "K-Pop Performance Powerhouse" from media outlets worldwide.

The name SEVENTEEN reflects the group's unique structure, symbolizing "13 members + 3 units + 1 group." Originally intended to debut with 17 members, including four former pre-debut trainees—Jang Do-yoon, Samuel Kim, Shin Dong-jin, and Yao Mingming—the name captures their unity and diversity as a collective force in the K-pop landscape.
