‘ Tumbbad ’ actor-producer Sohum Shah has refuted rumours that he and director Rahi Anil Barve are having a possible fallout. Sohum stated that Rahi continues to play a significant role in his life. When Rahi posted on Instagram to announce his departure from ‘ Tumbbad 2 ’, rumours started to circulate.

In an interview with India Today Digital, Sohum Shah denied the rumours and shared that they have been trying to make ‘Tumbbad 2’ for the longest time. He shared, “There are no issues at all. We were not able to crack the script in the writing stage. We are working with Yogesh Chandekar, the writer of Andhadhun, and Monica O My Darling. We have finally got it. As for Rahi, he has been working on mega shows like Gulkanda Tales and Rakt Bramhand. He has been working on those massive projects for a few years now.”

In the post, Rahi stated that he intended to write a trilogy and would begin work on the next chapter, ‘Pahadpangira’, next year. The filmmaker also extended his best wishes to Sohum and director Aadesh Prasad for continuing the ‘Tumbbad’ series. Many people speculated after reading the post that Rahi and Sohum had a fallout, which caused Rahi to leave the eagerly awaited sequel.

Sohum stated that there is no fallout and added, "Recently, we had a screening and Rahi was there. He was the one who designed Vinayak's [his character] look. Whenever we are making Tumbbad 2, and we need him, he will be there. And I think it's vice versa, as I would always be there for him when he needs me."

Sohum added that Rahi is an important part of his life. Their relationship began as colleagues before evolving into a friendship. Rahi consistently encourages him to pursue larger projects and inspires him to take on lead roles. He has instilled a significant level of confidence in him, contributing to his strong rapport.

The actor-producer also gave an update on ‘Tumbbad 2’ and shared that the story has been finalized, and that is all that can be disclosed at this time. The team will soon begin production. He shared that he has been advised by the team not to provide further comments. They have successfully completed the cycle with the re-release of ‘Tumbbad’, which has performed well in theaters. Additionally, they will commence work on the sequel.
