'Kuberaa' OTT release: When and where to watch Dhanush, Rashmika & Nagarjuna’s thriller

After a successful theatrical run, 'Kuberaa' starring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nagarjuna is now set to make its OTT debut.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, the high-octane thriller will begin streaming on Prime Video from July 18 in Tamil and Telugu. The viewers can enjoy the movie in Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

A dark chase through Mumbai’s underworld

'Kuberaa' is set against the gritty backdrop of Mumbai. The Dhanush starrer tells the story of Deva Kallam, who is a humble wanderer from Tirupati whose life spirals into chaos after he gets caught in a sinister corporate conspiracy. Dhanush plays Deva, who finds himself manipulated by Deepak Tej (played by Jim Sarbh), a disgraced former CBI officer working under the thumb of ruthless tycoon Neeraj Mithra.


When Deva realises he’s being used, he escapes, triggering a deadly manhunt. With only Sameera (Rashmika Mandanna), a stranded woman, to guide him, Deva must survive in a world he barely understands.


Box office success

Released in theatres on June 20, 2025, 'Kuberaa' garnered praise for its performances, direction, and music. According to the Sacnilk website, 'Kuberaa' minted Rs 87.54 crores from India in just 21 days and on day 21 the movie made a high of Rs 14 lakhs as per the early estimates.


"Kuberaa is not your usual commercial potboiler"


ETimes gave the movie a rating of 3.5 stars, and an excerpt from our official review reads, "Where Kuberaa falters is in its pacing. The first half takes its time to build the world, perhaps a little too slowly." Dhanush's stunning performance was said to be the main positive aspect of the thriller film. Even with all these positives, some viewers complained about the shoddily written second half of the Nagarjuna starrer which overall affected the pacing of 'Kuberaa'. In short, 'Kuberaa' may have its flaws, but it is surely a one-time watchable flick.
