Known for her comedic timing and strong on-screen presence, Sumona has had a remarkable career in Indian television with shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Dev, and Comedy Nights with Kapil. Over the years, she has become a familiar and beloved face on Indian television, appreciated for both her acting talent and candid personality.

Taking to Instagram on her birthday, Sumona shared a reflective note:

“37 today. In a world that feels more fragile by the day — where headlines speak of loss, war, and tragedy — I’m just taking a quiet moment to be grateful. For life. For love. For the people who hold me up — friends, family, fans, and even strangers who send kindness my way. Thank you for the wishes, the blessings, and the warmth. Another year older… and still full of hope… Happy Birthday to me.”

Off-screen, Sumona has been vocal about her journey of personal growth . In a podcast conversation with Pankaj Dubey, she opened up about choosing to live independently, setting boundaries with her parents at the age of 30, and embracing financial and personal responsibility. “Until you live alone, you don’t realise the responsibilities. When your cook doesn’t come, when things break down—managing all of it teaches you accountability,” she said.

Sumona also revealed her struggle of buying a home in Mumbai. “Mumbai me ghar khareedne me jo papad belne padte hai… I bought myself a small house and renovated it,” she shared with pride.

As she steps into another year, Sumona continues to inspire with her resilience, honesty, and ever-present hope.
