Ronit Roy recalls his struggling days in the early phase of his acting career; Says, “I used to get Rs 1800–2000 per episode for the role of Mr. Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay”
Ronit Roy , who has impressed fans with his work on both the small and big screens, recently made several revelations about his personal and professional life. The actor appeared on a podcast with Hindi Rush, where he opened up about his early days in the industry, financial struggles, lack of work, and more. Ronit mentioned that despite doing television for 6–7 years, he wasn’t financially stable.
Ronit further revealed that he was paid around Rs 1800–2000 per episode for the role of Mr. Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay , which made him slightly more comfortable financially. However, true stability still eluded him at the time.
He shared, “I’m not sure what Shweta Tiwari earned, but my numbers weren’t that great. Even after doing TV for 6–7 years before that, my role of Mr. Bajaj received Rs 1800–2000 per episode. Everything was just hand-to-mouth. I wasn’t really financially stable, but once I started to receive a lot of recognition, my life started to change.”
Ronit then added, “During the early days of my acting career, I didn’t earn much. It was all hand-to-mouth. After one of my movies, I didn’t receive any work for four months, and I was terrified. I was very young then, and it was a deeply discouraging phase. However, this changed eventually, and I’m happy about that.”
While talking about not getting enough work, he mentioned, “There was a phase in my life where I wasn’t getting work. In 1995–1996, everything dried up. I made the mistake of signing a project that completely tanked. Whatever respect I had earned began to fade, and because of that, more work stopped coming my way. For a long time, I didn’t get work and I was struggling to pay my bills.”
