Akali Dal Leader Bikram Singh Majithia Arrested By Punjab Vigilance Bureau: Report

Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday arrested Shiromani Akali Dal General Secretary Bikram Singh Majithia after conducting raids at 25 locations in the state, as per reports.

Before leaving his home after being arrested, Majithia hugged his sons and said, "Stay strong, don’t be afraid."

Vikram Majithia's wife Ganeev Kuar has alleged that the Vigilance team entered their Amritsar home forcefully and did not disclose the reason for the raid.

Speaking on raids by the Vigilance Department at the residence of SAD leader, Punjab AAP President Aman Arora told news agency ANI, "Inquiry would have happened based on a complaint received by the Vigilance department. I can confidently say that the Punjab government does not work with vendetta."
