Navi Mumbai: Man Booked for Sexual Harassment, Threatening Woman at Gunpoint

A 40-year-old man has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman and threatening her at gunpoint in Navi Mumbai’s Taloja area.

This gruesome incident took place on June 28 afternoon when the woman was walking to the metro station. According to the police, the accused, Kundan Netke, someone she had known, stopped her on the way and asked her to get into his car, saying he wanted to speak to her privately.

Once inside, the accused became aggressive and demanded sexual favours, and when the woman refused, Netke allegedly pulled out a revolver and threatened her at gunpoint.

However, the woman managed to escape and immediately approached the police. Based on her complaint, the Taloja police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under sections 75 (sexual harassment) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

As of now, no arrest has been made. The investigation is underway, and police are activelylooking for the accused.

The incident has sparked concern among local residents, especially women commuters who use the metro station regularly.
