Maha CM Devendra Fadnavis flags off “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train

Indian Railways, in coordination with IRCTC, proudly launched the “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train” on 9.06.2025 from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai. The Special Tourist train was flagged off by Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, Maharashtra amidst spirited chants of “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jai”, marking a memorable occasion for all in attendance.

Rahul Narwekar, Speaker, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly; Ashish Shelar, Minister of Information Technology and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra; Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway, Rahul Himalian, Chairman and Managing Director, Director (Tourism Marketing), IRCTC and other dignitaries were present at the event.

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train” has been curated to connect key historical locations associated with the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The destinations covered include :- Raigad Fort, the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the site of his coronation; Pune, featuring the Lal Mahal, Kasba Ganapati Temple, and the Shivsrushti Historical Theme Park; Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; Bhimashankar, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlinga shrines; Pratapgarh Fort, the site of the historic battle between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Afzal Khan and Kolhapur, known for Mahalakshmi Temple and the historic Panhala Fort.
