MCL Inks MoU With NIT Rourkela For Construction Of ₹43-Crore Girls' Hostel

Sambalpur (Odisha): Coal company Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has inked an MoU with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela for the construction of Rs 43-crore girls hostel.
The MoU was signed on Friday in the presence of MCL Chairman cum Managing Director Uday Anant Kaole, Director (Human Resources) Keshav Rao, and NIT Rourkela Director Professor K Umamaheshwar Rao, along with other senior officials, an official statement said.
Under this CSR initiative, MCL will be funding the hostel which will accommodate girl students, encouraging their pursuit of higher education, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields, it said.

MCL has been actively supporting educational infrastructure at NIT Rourkela with a total CSR contribution of Rs 93.77 crore, including financial assistance for another 500-seater girls' hostel and the Technology Business Incubator (TBI), it added.
