Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's Bollywood connection: What's common between the late billionaire and Sridevi?

Indian billionaire business magnate, stock trader and investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away on Sunday morning.

He breathed his last in Mumbai at the age of 62.

While he was an active investor and was popularly referred to as the 'Big Bull of India', not many know that Jhunjhunwala has dabbled in Bollywood as well.

Jhunjhunwala's tryst with Bollywood happened when he decided to produce the highly-acclaimed 2012 Hindi film 'English Vinglish', which had all eyes on it as it was also touted to be superstar Sridevi's 'comeback'. The film went on to be a massive hit, and the late billionaire's investment definitely turned out to be a profitable one.

Jhunjhunwala did not just stop there but he went on to bankroll two more films -- 'Shamitabh' in 2015 and 'Ki & Ka' in 2016. While the former failed to impress the audience, the latter too did not create much hype in the movie market.

Not just that, but Jhunjhunwala was famous for his conversations with a leading lady of Bollywood every year during Diwali, during which they discussed all about success and failure, business in the film industry, the connection between stock market and showbiz, and more.

Jhunjhunwala's demise came as a shock for the entire nation and tributes have been pouring in from all corners of the country for the 'King of Bull Market'. The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
