Rotary Club Of Navi Mumbai Vashi Installs New Leadership, Unveils Vision For Sustainable Community Impact

The Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai (RCNM) Vashi, ushered in the 2025–2026 Rotary year with the installation of the President and the secretary. 

 Rotarian Dr. Venkatesh Kategiri was elected as the President and  Niteen Jakka as the  Secretary. The ceremony, held at the Rotary Center in Sector 6A, Vashi, was presided over by District Governor  Harsh Makol,  the first DG from Navi Mumbai representing  Rotary district 3141 (thane )_

Operating under the Rotary Navi Mumbai Charitable Trust (RNMCT), the club continues to uphold Rotary International’s global mission of service and fellowship. Rotary International, a worldwide network of over 1.2 million members, is known for its humanitarian efforts and fiscal integrity. Its philanthropic arm, the Rotary Foundation, has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for 15 consecutive years.

The installation ceremony was compered by Past President Aadesh Sikchi and Rotary Ann Monika Ajay Jhalani. The newly inducted board of directors pledged their commitment to community service with a renewed focus on sustainable and inclusive development.

Among the club’s standout initiatives:

A blood donation camp, which collected 500 units benefitting over 1,500 patients, led by Rotarian Nitin Shah

Free heart surgeries for more than 100 underprivileged children, also spearheaded by Rotarian Shah

A Miyawaki forest project in Ulwe, a joint effort by Rotary Districts 3141 and 3142

Computer literacy programs and a job fair reaching over 3,000 underprivileged individuals, as part of a global grant project led by Rotarian Premkumar

Donation of blood storage equipment valued at over Rs1 lakh to NNMC Vashi under a Rotary International Global Grant

Rotarian Dr. Venkatesh, in his inaugural address, outlined a clear and actionable vision focusing on community outreach, environmental sustainability, a plastic-free society, construction of a check dam, and scaling existing projects to create wider impact.

In a show of environmental commitment, seven indigenous trees were planted at the Rotary Center, with a pledge for their maintenance. The club also inaugurated an e-waste collection center to encourage responsible disposal and recycling practices.
