Massive traffic snarls in Udhampur, Traffic Police fail in management
UDHAMPUR: Massive traffic jam have become the order of the day in Udhampur area and the National Highway passing through the town as well as Dhar Road and Bypass, leaving commuters and students stranded for hours on the road.
The heavy jam was witnessed at Omara Morh, Shiv Nagar, Military Hospital Chowk, Housing Colony Chowk as well as Jakhani Chowk, besides Bypass National Highway and Battal Balian link.
Owing to the mismanagement and total failure on the part of Traffic Police, Office-goers and Students could not reach to offices and schools in time.
The Traffic Policemen at most of the bottlenecks and crossings were found missing thus school buses and other vans remained stuck in traffic jam for hours.
People were cursing to the Traffic Police authorities for its failure to properly regulate the traffic as they had to witness worst ever traffic mess.
Scores of the vehicles remained stranded or moving at snail's pace for hours. The double lanning created by cars and other light vehicles compounded the problem.
