Saturday, the grand finale, could see the mercury break the 30C mark. It’s expected to be the hottest day not just of the festival - but possibly of the year so far. The entire UK is bracing for extreme warmth, with long hours of blazing sunshine and sultry conditions continuing into the evening.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said: “An area of high pressure over southern England will build across a larger part of the UK through midweek. Ahead of this, wet and windy weather will affect the far northwest later today and into Tuesday morning. It will remain very warm across parts of the south and east.”
