Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Lataa Saberwal CONFIRMS separation from Sanjeev Seth after 16 years of marriage
New Delhi: Television actress Lataa Saberwal has officially announced her separation from husband and co-actor Sanjeev Seth. The news was confirmed on Saturday through a heartfelt social media post shared by the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress on her official Instagram.
The couple had first met on the sets of the hit TV drama where they portrayed an on-screen married couple, and had been together for over 16 years. Their on-screen chemistry had gradually blossomed into a real-life relationship, and they got married in 2009. A son was welcomed into their lives in 2013.
In her announcement, Lataa stated, “After a prolonged silence, I declare that I (Lataa Saberwal) have been separated from my husband (Mr Sanjeev Seth). I give gratitude to him for giving me a lovely son. I wish him all the best for his future life.”
The statement, while brief, conveyed a sense of peace and finality. Lataa further requested privacy during this period, writing, “I request everyone to please respect my and my family’s peace and not to ask any questions or call regarding this. GRATITUDE.”

Sanjeev Seth had previously been married to actress Reshma Tipnis, with whom he parted ways in 2004. It was on the sets of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai that he found a new chapter in his personal life with Lataa Saberwal. Their journey, from reel to real life, had been followed closely by fans over the years.
In 2021, Lataa announced her decision to step away from daily soaps, choosing instead to pursue other creative avenues beyond television.
