Ronit Roy speaks out on 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2', and whether or not he was offered a role in it

New Delhi: Actor Ronit Roy was recently asked about popular TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2, while the actor was preparing for the release of his next film Maa and he said, “I am not part of the show, I think Amar Upadhyay is playing Mihir Virani in the show. I don’t have much to say I wish them all the best. In fact Smriti was telling me it is a very beautiful story. I couldn’t do it because of my constraints.”

When coaxed if he was offered to play Mihir again in the show to which he said, “I don’t know what offer means, they had called whole lot of actors simultaneously and if that is what you would call an offer then yes I was offered but things didn’t work out.”

It may be recalled that Amar Upadhyay quit the popular show in 2001 after the death of his character and after there was a nationwide protest that made him return to the show. However in 2002, when the show took a generation leap Amar Upadhyay quit as he wanted to pursue a career in films and was replaced by late Inder Kuar who quit within a year. Ronit Roy stepped in and continued to play the role till end of the show in November 2008.
