Watch: Dashcam captures Iranian missile strike in Israel's Ashdod city

Tel Aviv: Tensions between Iran and Israel escalated sharply on Monday as both nations exchanged missile attacks, prolonging their ongoing conflict into its 11th day despite growing international appeals for restraint. Northern Israel was rocked by fresh air raid sirens after Iran launched multiple aerial strikes in waves, triggering widespread alarm across the country.
Amid the barrage, a video surfaced on social media capturing the moment an Iranian missile struck Israel’s coastal city of Ashdod. The dashcam footage showed debris and stones flung into the air following the explosion near a moving car. The impact caused the windshield to become coated in dust as the driver hurriedly drove away from the blast site. Reports indicate the missile hit a power station in Ashdod, significantly crippling its operational capacity.

According to The Times of Israel, while no injuries were immediately reported, additional impacts were confirmed across different locations in the country. The missile barrage reportedly lasted close to 40 minutes, making it one of Iran’s most sustained attacks since the beginning of the conflict. Explosions were also heard in Jerusalem, though the Magen David Adom rescue service reported no casualties at the time.
Tehran responded fiercely to recent US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities, warning of consequences. Iranian armed forces spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari stated on national television that the American “hostile act”, which came after over a week of Israeli offensives, would “pave the way for the extension of war in the region.”
“The fighters of Islam will inflict serious, unpredictable consequences on you with powerful and targeted (military) operations,” he warned.
In retaliation, the Israeli military targeted missile bases in western Iran and launched strikes on six Iranian airports, claiming to have destroyed several fighter jets and helicopters. Iran’s health ministry reported over 400 deaths due to Israeli attacks. In contrast, Iranian offensives have reportedly resulted in the deaths of 24 people in Israel, based on official figures.
