Congress leaders pay tribute to YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his 76th birth anniversary

Hyderabad: Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjuna Kharge, paid tribute to former AP CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his 76th birth anniversary, in a post on social media platform X.

The post read, “On his birth anniversary, we pay homage to Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

A truly compassionate leader, he devoted his entire life to the progress and well-being of the state. His remarkable contributions to public service, especially farmers and the weaker sections and to the Congress party will continue to inspire and be deeply cherished.”

YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s wife Vijayamma and his son and former AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, paid tributes and special programs were organized at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya, YSR district, on Tuesday.

Telangana Congress leaders and Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy paid homage to the statue of late Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy at Taj Krishna Circle, Banjara Hills, tv9 telugu reported.

Former YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy and AP Governor Abdul Nazeer also paid homage to the late leader.

Rajasekhar Reddy served as the CM of an undivided AP from 2004-2009. In September 2009, a helicopter carrying Reddy went missing in the Nallamala forest area. It crashed with all five people including Reddy pronounced dead.
