Long journey with Dzire: No hassle, no problem

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has a very quiet and comfortable ride. The benefits of its reliable quality are clearly visible here. I really liked the Z-Series engine of this car. Tests conducted earlier have also shown that this engine is as powerful as the old K-Series, but is better than it in terms of mileage.
I have driven the Maruti Suzuki Dzire for the last 6 months, and must say that this car has exceeded my expectations. I already knew that this car would be a great choice for everyday use, but it gave me a comfortable experience every day without any hassle.
In these six months, I have driven the car for 6,852 kms, and the journey has been very smooth and comfortable for me. The benefits of Maruti Suzuki's reliable quality are clearly visible here. The Dzire drives every day without any hassle. There is no worry about the car - this is no less than a luxury in today's busy lifestyle.
The brakes have started making a bit of noise though, but that is normal wear and tear as I have driven it quite fast a few times. That was the only thing I had to pay some attention to.
I really liked the Z-Series engine of this car. Tests already conducted have shown that this engine is as powerful as the old K-Series, but is better in terms of mileage. This car gives excellent mileage, especially on the Mumbai-Pune highway or on the Sealink route to office. This car runs for about 550 kilometers on a full tank, which eliminates the need to fill petrol again and again - which is a great relief.
The engine has become smoother over time. The car drives smoothly in traffic without having to change gears frequently, and responds without strain even on places like ghats. However, the clutch bite point felt a little odd at the start, but after some time one got used to it. Especially when the car is stalled on a climb, you have to give a little more accelerator and sometimes you may even have to turn off the AC.
Some things that could have been better:
- The AC is good, but running it for long on "recirculation" mode causes a slight smell in the cabin. There should be a deodorizer function.
- The spray power of the windshield washer should be a little stronger, especially in monsoons.
- The fuel gauge sometimes does not show the correct reading especially when you fill new fuel or do a bit of sporty driving on the ghat sections.
As far as performance is concerned, the Dzire feels like one of the best Maruti cars ever. It could have been a little more stable at triple digit speeds (100+ kmph) on the highway, but on bad roads, the car not only feels solid but also absorbs shocks well.
Overall, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a great family car – simple yet reliable, offering everything you need for your everyday needs, and that too within a budget.
