2019 Datsun Redi-GO Launched with new safety features Datsun has launched the 2019 redi-GO hatchback with a bunch of new updates.

The 2019 Datsun redi-GO now comes with a host of enhanced safety updates and features. The 2019 redi-GO hatchback is now available with a starting price of Rs 2.79 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Datsun Redigo is now compliant with AIS-145 safety norms as the Japanese carmaker has updated all variants of the budget hatchback with safety features such as a driver’s side airbag, rear parking sensors, a speed alert system and seatbelt reminders for the driver and front passenger. The previous update on the Redigo was in March where the hatchback got the addition of ABS and EBD. Due to the increase in kit, the base Datsun Redigo’s price has gone up by about Rs 12,000, though the top-spec variant is just about Rs 4,000 more than the previous model. The Redigo range now starts at Rs 2.80 lakh and goes up to Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

Hardeep Singh Brar, Director Sales and Commercial, Nissan India stated, "At Datsun, we are committed to delight the customer and enhance the customer experience. Our popular model, Datsun redi-GO now comes with various added safety features as standard which is yet another testimony of our focus to bring in progressive mobility backed by safety, technology, style and convenience."While this safety update means Datsun can continue to produce the Redigo until the next safety norms deadline (all cars produced after October 1, 2019 will have to be crash-test compliant), it is safe to expect a facelift around that time that will meet the crash test norms as well as the pedestrian safety norms that will come into effect in August 2020.
