Ahmedabad Air Crash Triggers High-Level Probe: Committee to Submit Report in 3 Months
The tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad has sent shockwaves across the nation. Nation Mourns After Catastrophic CrashOn Thursday, Air India Flight AI-171, en route to London from Ahmedabad, crashed just five minutes after takeoff. The aircraft had barely reached an altitude of 625 feet when it plummeted and collided with the hostel of BJ Medical College, causing unimaginable destruction. The site of the crash will undergo thorough inspection, and interviews will be conducted with surviving crew, ATC staff, and others involved.
If the investigation finds involvement of foreign nationals, aircraft manufacturers, or international systems, the committee will coordinate with global agencies to ensure a comprehensive review.
Aiming for Answers and AccountabilityThe government has directed the committee to recommend improvements in existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and suggest robust guidelines to deal with such emergencies in the future.
