Sonam had planned to become a widow 11 days before the marriage. Not only this, even before killing Raja, Sonam had made preparations for another murder.

Actually, Sonam had hatched many conspiracies before marriage. However, her conspiracy failed every time. In such a situation, Sonam made up a false story to murder Raja after marriage and prove herself innocent.

According to Shillong's Khali Hill SP Vivek Syam, "The murder of Raja Raghuvanshi was not a contract killing. Akash, Anand and Vishal carried out the murder due to their friendship with Raj Kushwaha."

In February, when Raja and Sonam were engaged, they all together made a plan to make Sonam disappear. During this, everyone planned to kill a young girl in place of Sonam and burn her body and tell everyone that Sonam died by drowning in the river. Also, to convince everyone, they will leave Sonam's scooty at the spot.

However, this plan of Sonam and Raj failed. So, 11 days before the wedding, Sonam and Raj together hatched a conspiracy to kill Raja. As per the plan, Sonam took Raja to Shillong on the pretext of honeymoon and executed the entire conspiracy there.
