FROM ATTIC TO AUCTION BLOCK: JOHN LENNON'S 'HELP!' GUITAR TO GO UNDER THE HAMMER AFTER 50 YEARS IN ATTIC

A legendary piece of music history is set to hit the auction block: John Lennon's iconic Help! guitar, which spent the last half-century tucked away in an attic, is now ready to find a new home.

This Framus 12-string Hootenanny acoustic guitar was not only strummed by Lennon but also by George Harrison during the making of Help! and Rubber Soul.

Its distinctive sound graced several Beatles classics, including "Help!", "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away," and "Norwegian Wood."

Discovered in an attic in the British countryside, the guitar, along with its original Maton case, carries an estimated price of $600,000 to $800,000. However, experts predict it could fetch even more, possibly surpassing the $2.4 million price tag of Lennon's Gibson J160E sold in 2015.

Described as the "greatest find of a Beatles guitar" since Paul McCartney's lost Höfner bass, this discovery has stirred excitement among music enthusiasts worldwide. Darren Julien, co-founder of Julien's Auctions, likened finding the Help! guitar to discovering a lost masterpiece by a renowned artist.

The auction, part of Julien's "Music Icons" sale, features over 1,000 lots, including memorabilia from music legends like U2's Adam Clayton, Mötley Crüe's Mick Mars, and the incomparable Tina Turner.

With its storied past and enduring legacy, John Lennon's Help! guitar is more than just a musical instrument; it's a piece of rock 'n' roll history waiting to be cherished by its next owner.
