Bhartruhari Mahtab Presents Development Blueprint For Cuttack; Odisha CM Promises Steps To Fast-Track Projects
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday assured BJP MP Bhartruhari Mahtab that concrete steps would be taken for speedy implementation of a number of projects in Cuttack Lok Sabha constituency.
Mahtab, who is the Lok Sabha member from Cuttack, met the Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhawan to push forward a series of developmental initiatives aimed at transforming the parliamentary constituency into a model region of infrastructure and economic progress.
During the meeting, Mahtab presented a comprehensive proposal encompassing civic, cultural, and industrial upgrades. Major projects included the establishment of a vending zone in the OMP area of Cuttack, construction of a state-of-the-art convention centre, and the revitalisation of the Ranihat area of the city.
He also discussed plans for a new park at Press Chhak and the integrated development of Satyabhamapur, the birthplace of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das.
The Parliamentarian sought the Chief Minister’s intervention on several high-impact infrastructure and livelihood projects, including a drainage master plan for the CMC and CDA areas, a barrage project over the Mahanadi River, and the long-awaited revival of Badamba Sugar Mill and Bhagatpur Cotton Mill. He also emphasized the need for cold storage facilities at the sub-divisional level to support farmers and local businesses.
Responding in a positive manner, the Chief Minister assured the Cuttack MP that all necessary steps would be taken to fast-track these projects.
Majhi directed departmental secretaries to expedite administrative approvals and remove bottlenecks to ensure timely execution. Majhi also underlined his government’s commitment to collaborative governance, stating that Cuttack and its surrounding sub-divisions should evolve into a modern, prosperous constituency with a strong foundation in both heritage and growth.
Senior officials, including Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Industries Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswat Mishra were present at the meeting.
