Ludhiana property dealer hacked to death with sharp-edged weapons; killers flee in Swift car

PTC Web Desk:  In a horrifying incident that has sent shockwaves across Punjab, an elderly man was brutally murdered on the Dhandra Road near Missing Link 2 Highway in Ludhiana. The victim, identified as Kuldeep Singh, was attacked with swords by a group of assailants while travelling in his car.

Disturbing video footage of the incident has emerged, reportedly captured by a passerby on a mobile phone. The video shows the attackers dragging the victim out of his Volkswagen car and assaulting him with sharp weapons in the middle of the road.

Kuldeep Singh, who was once a close aide and personal assistant to senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Member of Parliament Jagdev Singh Talwandi, was returning from his farmhouse late at night when he was ambushed. The attackers, who were following him in a Swift car, intercepted him on the highway.

Despite Kuldeep Singh’s desperate cries for help, no one intervened. The video shows him lying on the ground as the attackers continued to strike him with swords. The assault continued until he succumbed to his injuries.

At least three to four assailants can be seen in the video, and a gunshot can also be heard during the attack.

The police have launched an investigation into the gruesome murder, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits. The motive behind the murder is still unclear.

Upon receiving information, the police reached the scene and took custody of the body, which was later shifted to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.

Dugri SHO Avneet Kaur confirmed the murder and stated that Kuldeep Singh was targeted by a group of youths using deadly weapons. “At this point, we do not have details about the identity of the attackers or the motive behind the murder. We are investigating all angles,” she said.

She said preliminary investigation suggested that Singh was suddenly attacked while travelling from his farmhouse to his residence.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Tiwari, sarpanch of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, who also reached the scene after receiving information, confirmed that Kuldeep Singh was a known property dealer in the area and was allegedly killed by a group of young men.

The police have launched a manhunt to trace the accused, and further investigation is underway.
