PTC Web Desk: In a shocking case that has sent ripples across Punjab, popular social media influencer Bhabhi Kamal Kaur, also known as Kanchan Kumari, was found murdered in Bathinda. The Punjab Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder, while the alleged mastermind, Amritpal Singh Mehro, is currently absconding.

The body of Kamal Kaur was recovered from a car parked in the lot of Adesh Medical University, located along the Bathinda-Chandigarh National Highway. The gruesome condition of the body and the stench suggested she had been murdered some time before the discovery. Her final rites were conducted at Dana Mandi Ram Bagh in Bathinda, following a post-mortem.

Initially, the police registered a case against unidentified persons. However, investigations soon revealed that the murder was allegedly orchestrated by Amritpal Singh Mehro, who had reportedly lured Kanchan Kumari to Bathinda under the pretext of a job promotion.

According to Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal, police teams rushed to the spot immediately after the incident was reported. Based on a statement given by the victim's mother, the police registered a case against Amritpal Singh Mehro and two of his accomplices— Jaspreet Singh and Nimratjeet Singh. The latter two have since been arrested.

SSP Kondal said the murder was committed in the Bhucho area. The motive behind the killing appears to be Kamal Kaur’s increasing popularity as a social media blogger. It is alleged that Mehro repeatedly asked her to stop posting viral videos online. When she did not comply, he planned the murder.

Mehro invited Kanchan to Bathinda on the pretense of offering her a promotion opportunity. Once she arrived, she was strangled to death. The act was carried out by Jaspreet Singh and Nimratjeet Singh, now in custody. The Bathinda Police are currently conducting a search operation to apprehend the prime accused, Amritpal Singh Mehro.

The case has stirred significant public outrage, especially among followers of Kamal Kaur, who was widely known for her relatable and bold online presence.

SSP Amneet Kondal assured that justice would be served.
