Barbora Krejcikova, meanwhile, will be hoping to retain the women's crown after claiming the honours in 2024.

Thousands of people will flock to Wimbledon over the next fortnight and millions more will tune in from the comfort of their homes. Alcaraz is the favourite to retain his men's singles title, having beaten Novak Djokovic to claim the honours in 2024. He is heading into Wimbledon after 18 straight victories, an incredible run which saw him lift silverware at the French Open and Queen's Club.

The reigning champion is priced at 7/4 by Oddschecker, with Jannik Sinner named as the second favourite with odds of 28/15. Novak Djokovic is third on the list at 13/2, while Jack Draper is 14/1 to become the first British champion since Andy Murray.

Jiri Lehecka could be one to watch, with the 23-year-old priced at a whopping 70/1. He reached the final at Queen's Club, which has a strong track record of acting as a springboard for Wimbledon success.

Alcaraz won both events last year, while Lorenzo Musetti reached the Wimbledon semi-finals after finishing as the runner-up at Queen's Club. Matteo Berrettini, meanwhile, was a Wimbledon finalist in 2021 after prevailing in the traditional warm-up event.

On the women's side, the bookies are expecting a new champion with Aryna Sabalenka the odds-on favourite at 29/10. Elena Rybakina follows behind at 6/1 while Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek are priced at 15/2 and 12/1 respectively.

Krejcikova is not expected to retain her title, with the 29-year-old priced between 50/1 and 100/1 with various bookmakers. It puts her behind the likes of Ons Jabeur, Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu.

Elina Svitolina, priced at 40/1, could be worth a look given her impressive record at Wimbledon. She has reached the semi-finals in two of her last four visits to SW19 and was knocked out in the quarter-finals last year.

While she is not among the title favourites, her proficiency on the grass could make her a surprise contender.
