iPhone users find 'sneaky' feature that makes home screen easy to organise

iPhone users are just realising there's an easier way to organise their home screens in seconds.
If you've got an iPhone and you've ever tried organising your apps, you'll know how much of a pain it can be. It often involves moving one app at a time into a folder or onto a different page of your home screen, just so you can have all your games in one place and all your productivity apps in another.
Not everyone cares about having a neat and tidy home screen, but for those that do, you can sink hours into getting everything looking just right. And that's before you play around with colour schemes and fun widgets.
But what if we told you there's a life hack that makes this very task super easy?
According to Apple device users on social media, there's a trick we've all been missing when it comes to moving apps around the home screen - and it could help you reorganise your pages in seconds.
The account "Today Years Old" shared a video on X showing that you don't have to drag your apps around one by one.
The clip first showed the traditional method of long pressing on an app, choosing to move it, and then dragging it onto a second home screen page. But then, the person in the video showed a "sneaky" hack that allowed them to move multiple apps at once.
All you have to do is drag one app as if you're going to move it to another page, and then use your other hand to tap all of the apps you want to move. They will all be grouped together, and you can then slide across to the page you want and drop them all at the same time. This move will not put them in a folder together, but will allow you to move them in a group.
The X account wrote: "Had every iPhone since 2007 and just found out about this feature today. I'm sick."
Commenters on the post were equally as baffled, with many admitting they've also only just found out about the trick - despite owning iPhone models for almost 20 years.
One person said: "I've had almost every iPhone since the first one to come out. I know most of the tricks and 'hacks' there are for this phone. I had ZERO idea that you could do this. Insane."
Another added: "This would have made a few days in my life a lot better had I known this then."
A third said they had originally believed the video was just showing people how to move apps the traditional way, but said their "life was changed" when they realised what was actually being shown.
Others pointed out the feature is relatively new, so those who owned the very first generations of iPhone likely wouldn't have known about it, as it didn't exist back then.
The feature has been around for about eight years, having been implemented with iOS 11, which was released in September 2017.
One person said: "To be fair, this didn't come out until quite recently."
And another added: "That feature was not out in 2007. It recently came out in an iOS update."
