Ram Gopal Varma 'forced' to return to Hyderabad ahead of Laxmi NTR's press meet in Vijayawada

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's film Lakshmi NTR, starring Yagna Shetty and Rajsekhar Aningi will soon hit the theatres in Andhra Pradesh. But before the movie releases, the director of the flick has gained limelight for getting surrounded by controversies. RGV was gearing up for a press meet in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada ahead of the release of his film, but before he could enter the city, the filmmaker was asked to return to Hyderabad from the airport itself.

RGV took to his social media account to share a series of tweets revealing the same. 

RGV wrote that he was denied entry into the state and added that there was no democracy in Andhra Pradesh. The filmmaker's tweet read, "I am In police custody now for the only crime of trying to tell truth ..THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY IN ANDHRA PRADESH." He further tweeted, "Sorry to inform that the press meets at 4 pm is canceled because the police stopped us and have barred my entry into Vijayawada and forcibly sending me back to Hyderabad ..Hey, @ncbn WHERE IS DEMOCRACY? WHY IS TRUTH BEING BACK STABBED?" 

 

 

 

 

He also tweeted about being blocked from going live on Instagram and Facebook. The director wrote, "I can’t communicate because they blocked my insta facebook twitter live." 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Earlier in the morning, RGV revealed that the hotels in the town were being warned not to accommodate Laxmi NTR's team. Talking about the incident on Twitter, RGV wrote, "Hotels in Vijayawada are being warned not to accommodate #LakshmisNTR team. First Hotel Novotel has canceled us and now Hotel Ilapuram. This after they have been paid in advance. The people in power should understand that one can misuse power to delay, but no one can stop the truth." The filmmaker also claimed that two hotels canceled his booking in spite of making an advance booking and paying them beforehand. Take a look at the tweet below:
