Agra: Two men -- Aamir Khan (23) and Farman Hasan (24) -- were arrested in Agra on Tuesday following the alleged murder of a 22-year-old auto driver, Bilal Khan, whose body was found in bushes near Panchvati locality under Tajganj limits on June 21. The driver had injury marks all over the body, police said.

An FIR was subsequently registered under BNS sections 103 (1) (murder), 61 (2) (criminal conspiracy) along with the Arms Act.

SHO (Tajganj) Jasveer Singh Sirohi said, "During interrogation, Aamir revealed that he and Farman were friends for around 10 years and were also engaged in stone inlay work in Agra. Aamir is still involved in the same work while Farman recently moved into car decoration... For six years, Farman had been romantically involved with his maternal aunt's daughter, communicating regularly, a fact which Amir was aware of."

Around 15 days ago, Farman told Aamir that his girlfriend was also engaged in a relationship with Bilal Khan, an auto driver, and she no longer wished to continue it.

The trio – Farman, his girlfriend and Aamir – then conspired to eliminate Bilal. She supplied Aamir and Farman with Bilal's auto and mobile numbers. Farman befriended Bilal under the pretext of work through regular visits.

On June 20, Amir and Farman approached Bilal at his usual parking spot at a CNG petrol pump, proposing to go to Zonal Park Chaupati for work. On the way, Aamir alighted to buy snacks, water, cigarettes and disposable glasses while Bilal and Farman remained in the auto. They then proceeded to a secluded area near Zonal Park Chaupati, for a drink. Once intoxicated, Bilal was struck on his head with a brick, rendering him unconscious, then dragged him into the park, slit his throat and wrists with a knife and blade, leaving his body at the spot.

The SHO added that Farman's girlfriend remains at large and efforts are on to arrest her.
