18 pilgrims injured as vehicle overturns near Sangam area
Prayagraj: As many as 18 pilgrims were injured after the pickup vehicle they were travelling in overturned near the Sangam area after the driver lost control of the vehicle on Friday morning.
All the injured passengers were admitted to SRN Hospital of which one has been put on ventilator support.
The pilgrims had come from Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, for a holy bath in Sangam. DCP City Abhishek Bharti said the accident took place near Bandhwa area on Fort Road.
"Preliminary investigation indicate that the vehicle was overloaded leading it to lose balance," he said.
