City pays tribute to Ahmedabad air crash victims
Prayagraj: A day after the tragic air crash that occurred in Ahmedabad claiming several lives, including of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former chief minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, the BJP workers in Prayagraj paid homage to their beloved leader and other passengers at a memorial meeting held at Civil Lines on Friday.
With tearful eyes, they offered floral tributes to the deceased and observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect. They also prayed for strength and courage for the bereaved families to endure this tragedy.
Likewise, the Prayagraj city Congress committee also organised a condolence meeting to pay tributes to the air crash victims at the statue of Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad on Friday evening. The gathering was attended by a number of Congress leaders, including Member of Parliament from Allahabad Lok Sabha Ujjwal Raman Singh and other party functionaries. The party unit expressed deep grief over the loss and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
At United Group of Institutions (UGI), Naini, condolence meetings were organised across its campuses on Friday to pay homage to the air crash victims. Vice chairman of the group, Satpal Gulati, expressed shock over the incident, extending heartfelt condolences to the families affected. A two-minute silence was observed in all colleges under UGI. Similarly, a tribute meeting was held at United University (UU), Rawatpur campus, where staff and students paid their respects to the victims of the crash.
