Union min flags off Rozgar Mela, 204 youths hired
Bhubaneswar: In a push to boost youth participation in national development, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the 16th Rozgar Mela in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The event, aimed at expanding employment opportunities for young people, saw 204 appointment letters distributed to newly appointed candidates across various central govt departments.
Pradhan said,"India is a nation of youth power, and empowering them is a top priority for the Modi govt." The Rozgar Mela, held simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to prioritise employment generation, he added. In a nationwide address via video conferencing, Modi distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 young men and women.
Pradhan said that more than one million appointment letters have been distributed through such fairs. At the Bhubaneswar event, appointments were made in various sectors, including 143 in railways, 36 in the postal department, and others in finance, revenue, CRPF, CISF, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and IISER Berhampur.
