NDA is National Dictatorship Arrangement, says Stalin
Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin instructed DMK MPs to step up attack on the Union govt in the upcoming parliamentary session, to uphold the rights of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin who held a meeting with Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of DMK in Chennai on Friday said in a social media post that the 11 years of NDA rule was ‘National Dictatorship Arrangement'.
"The BJP rule was only about crippling people's rights, snatching away states' rights, imposing Hindi and Sanskrit everywhere, nurturing communalism and more importantly, deceiving Tamil Nadu," Stalin said.
Stalin said he has instructed DMK MPs to reflect the sentiments of Indian people and echo the voice of Tamil Nadu in parliament. "Let us expose the deceit of Union BJP govt and uphold our financial and educational rights," he said.
During the meeting, it was resolved that DMK MPs will "raise their voices strongly against the consistent betrayal of Tamil Nadu and cultural intrusions by BJP govt."
"The MPs will criticize the refusal of the Union govt to accept the Keeladi excavation report and its silence in acknowledging the archaeological significance of ancient iron usage that scientifically proves the uniqueness of Tamil culture," a statement from DMK said. The meeting criticized the frequent arrest of TN fishermen by the Sri Lankan govt, and resolved that the MPs would raise the issue in parliament to retrieve Katchatheevu. They will also urge the Union govt to declare Thirukkural as a national book.
The MPs will also oppose the alleged denial of funds for Tamil Nadu's railway projects, delay in disbursement of MGNREGA funds and the Union govt's denial of statehood to Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting also criticized the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, alleging that it was "misuse of Election Commission to strip voting rights from crores of citizens in Bihar, thereby endangering the core of democracy, in the name of electoral reforms."
