11-member extortion gang busted, 4 held in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Adilabad police have registered a criminal case against 11 persons, including a history-sheeter and a police constable from Maharashtra , for allegedly extorting money from motorists. Of the 11 accused, police announced the arrest of four on Saturday.
Those arrested have been identified as Chetan Singh, G Anvesh , M Anand, and M Mazaar. The remaining suspects, including history-sheeter Rohit Shinde and Sandeep, a constable from Yavatmal , Maharashtra, are yet to be apprehended.
Police revealed that the group had formed a gang and was stopping cattle-transport vehicles in the Adilabad area , accusing the drivers of illegal transport and extorting money from them.
