2 held with doda post worth 1.25cr in Hanumangarh

Jaipur: In a crackdown against drug trafficking , Hanumangarh police Sunday seized a truck loaded with 5 quintals of doda post and arrested two men suspected of smuggling the contraband . Police intercepted the truck and a Scorpio SUV on the Jamnagar-Amritsar Expressway near Chohilawali during a routine barricading operation. The SUV, which was allegedly being used to escort the truck, was stopped first. It was driven by one Amandeep Kumar, 34, a resident of Bathinda in Punjab. The truck followed shortly and was driven by Jagraj Singh, 46, also from Bathinda.

When officers inspected the truck, they discovered a hidden cabin built beneath its main body. Concealed inside were sacks filled with doda post. Superintendent Hari Shankar said that police were directed to intensify action against drug trafficking, illegal arms, gambling, and other criminal activities.

Amandeep Kumar and Jagraj Singh were arrested on the spot. TNN
