2 realtors abduct, thrash another over 35k debt; held
Pune: Hadapsar police on Saturday arrested two realtors on charges of abducting and beating up another estate agent (28) at Manjari village in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday to recover Rs35,000.
The victim from Alandi Devachi near Hadapsar filed a complaint with the police after the two accused and their two accomplices let him go. A search is underway for the duo's accomplices.
Senior inspector Sanjay Mogale of Hadapsar police told TOI, "We arrested two real estate agents—one 35-year-old and another 36-year-old—both residents of Manjari. The victim and the arrested individuals have known each other for the last few years because of the same plotting businesses in the Hadapsar and adjoining areas."
"A few months ago, the victim borrowed Rs 35,000 from the accused after facing financial difficulties. However, he failed to return the money as his financial constraints continued," Mogale said.
"The two real estate agents met the victim at Manjari village and took him to an isolated spot behind an educational institute in a car. They stopped the car at this spot and pulled out the victim. They kicked and punched him, demanding their money. The victim sustained injuries to his back, face, and head," Mogale said.
