62-year-old held for molesting minor in Agra

AGRA: Two men in their 60s were arrested in Agra and Etah district respectively on Thursday in two separate cases – one related to molestation and another of kidnapping -- of minor girls.


In Agra, accused Gulab Singh, 62, a resident of Dhanauli area under Malpura police jurisdiction in Agra, was booked under IPC section 354 B (Use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe her) and provisions of the POCSO Act.

He was held for allegedly molesting his neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter.

Mahesh Singh, station house officer of Malpura, said, “The girl’s parents have alleged that Gulab Singh had forced the girl to undress and then attempted to rape her, but somehow she managed to escape and informed her parents. Her parents were out for daily wage work when Gulab Singh allegedly took advantage of the situation.”

In Etah, 61-year-old Rajendra Singh, a resident of Bakrabaad under Rijor police jurisdiction, was arrested for allegedly assisting a minor to elope with a youth in June. Accused Rajendra Singh was booked along with his daughter, Rekha, and the youth, Sishupal Singh, under IPC section 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping a woman to compel her for marriage) and provisions of the POCSO Act.

Ram Kumar Gupta, SHO of Rijor said, “During our probe, we found that Rajendra’s phone was used in assisting Sishupal Singh to elope with the minor. The girl and other accused are still at large.”
