A festival that takes city dwellers to cultural roots

Pongal celebration is all about going back to our traditions and revisiting our cultural roots. Giving the city dwellers an experience of rural life is Namma Chennai Festival 2019. The festival, which has been happening from January 15 to January 20 at MK Cricket Ground on the YMCA Nandanam premises, features cuisines from different parts of Tamil Nadu, traditional games and more.

Several cultural events like Mayilattam, Oyilattam, Poi Kal Kuthirai, Thara Thappatai and Mallar Kambam have been performed by artistes from various parts of the state. On January 15, the event was inaugurated by Minister for Tamil official language and Tamil culture Ma Foi K Pandiarajan.
