Mumbai: A potentially dangerous incident was averted at Bangur Nagar Metro Station when a two-year-old child accidentally stepped out of a metro coach moments before the doors began to close.

Thanks to the alertness and swift action of station attendant Sanket Chodankar, the situation was brought under control within seconds. Noticing the child alone on the platform, Chodankar immediately alerted the train operator to halt departure and reopen the doors. He then rushed to ensure the child's safety and reunite the toddler with their guardian.

Officials from Maha Mumbai Metro praised the attendant's quick thinking and commitment to passenger safety. "Such presence of mind reinforces the high standards of safety and responsiveness maintained by our frontline staff," said a spokesperson.

The Maha Mumbai Metro said that its staff undergo regular safety and emergency training to ensure passengers have a safe and seamless travel experience.
